Lars Ruch's Diary

A little Swiss with big ambition

This is the new Luminox commercial we just delivered. Thanks to this project, I had the chance to meet and work with very talented people in LA.

In August 2012, I moved from my little Switzerland to the big United States of America for my American Dream. First I went to New York (because I have never been there) and then I crossed the country by bus direction Los Angeles (because I have never been there neither). Now I am based in LA and I miss NYC. Strange but normal.

This is a little video done with my little GoPro I received as a farewell present from my ex-roomies Anthony, Castor and Mathias.

The avant-première of Trained is taking place on Thursday the 18th of October in Geneva.

Here you can see the last trailer of our short film project: Trained. The film is finalized (we are just doing the conversion output for the cinema broadcast). I have the pleasure to be the line producer of this project.

Our latest production: the music video of Arty has just been released. Hope you like it!

Yesterday we did the avant-premiere of the music video Get up on the floor of the artist Arty. Arty and the dancers did a live choreography during the event (see picture above).
The video will be aired on MTV France and other TV channels in two weeks. We sincerely hope people will like it! Let’s see.

A commercial I produced in February 2012 for a new company called Netagenda based in Zurich. The media planning of this ad hasn’t been done yet (the video is not broadcasted). Netagenda is a web platform which allows you to book appointments online at your hairdresser, restaurant, spa, doctor, and many other services. We really hope this video will help the company to succeed!

Mehdi Benaïssa directed this video by experimenting the stop motion combined with live video shots thanks to the Dragonframe software. We took more than 1000 pictures for the transitions. All the decor is real and suspended with fishing line. We worked with very tight budgets which make us particularly proud of the result. We set up a small team made of friends and professionals. So thank you: Mehdi, Tamara, Damien, Habib, Georges, Fanny, Pakari, Valentin, Suzanne and Alexis!

A soon to be released music video project we did for a young singer named Arty. We shot it in March 2012. The shooting was so much fun because we filmed more than 50 teenagers who brought their smiles along! It made us so happy to notice that this young generation of 10-13 years old worked so hard for this video clip to be a success. For instance, some of them worked 3 months to prepare the choreography of the song. The single of the song “Get up on the floor” will be released these coming weeks. We sincerely hope for the Geneva film industry that it will be a worldwide success…
The video has been directed by Brian Brillantine. The production was made by Dirk Appermont and myself. The DOP’s name is Greg Bindschedler. The reason we shot with a Red one especially for the slowmotion. Greg used for some shots a 8mm lens: love them!
